About Omiado

Omiado was started in June 2007 as a playground for a misfit named stynxno. As a long time member of metafilter, I've seen plenty of comments on that community blog that said that if you didn't lilke how the moderating was done on said site, a person should make their own. After a few disagrements I had with an administrator at the site, I decided to take that advice and make my own metafilter clone.

Omiado means the meow in portuguese. It's a site dedicated to the interesting, bizarre, unique, and relevant world of internet culture. Using the collective power of a community of members, the content on omiado is driven by a community. LOLcats, zombies, news articles, and anything else that members find interesting can be shared here.
